‘Traffic Will Be a Nightmare’ in Thomas When New Section of Corridor H Opens Soon, Mayor Says
Also, Davis-Parsons section of Corridor H stuck awaiting fed action, power plant opponents explore legal options; and a new approach to beefing up law enforcement in Davis
The section of Corridor H from Kerens to Parsons is nearing completion and will open as soon as this fall, Thomas Mayor Jody Flanagan said. When that happens, traffic through Thomas is likely to double, Flanagan said, because Google Maps and other driving apps will redirect traffic onto local routes that include the new section of the highway.
“It’s going to be a nightmare, I’m telling you,” Flanagan said.
Flanagan and other local officials have cited those traffic concerns as a key reason why they want highway officials to get moving on the section of Corridor H between Davis and Parsons. However, progress on that section of Corridor H appears to be frozen until next year, Flanagan said.
